Founded in 1974, Asian Health Services (AHS) advocates for the medically underserved, including the immigrant and refugee Asian community, and works to ensure equal access to health care services regardless of income, insurance status, language, or culture.
The AHS approach to well-being focuses on “whole patient health. ”They go beyond primary care services to provide mental health, case management, nutrition, and dental care to more than 50,000 patients of all ages in English and 14 languages: Korean, ASL, Lao, Burmese, Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Mien, Karen, Mongolian, Karenni, Tagalog, Khmer, and Vietnamese.
AHS also recognizes that a patient’s health is directly linked to their social and economic circumstances. That’s why they are dedicated advocates, promoting policies that make communities safer and healthier places to live.
