Solidarity in Struggle: South Asians for Black Lives is a program of Malikah started by a group of Gen Z South Asian women in California. The program aims to dismantle anti-Blackness and Indophobia and calls on our communities to join the racial solidarity movement. Through social media, monthly newsletters, and workshops and events, the organization focuses on education and awareness as an enabler to inspire change.
Oppressive systems like white supremacy, colorism, racism, and xenophobia work together to harm people of color, including South Asians. The work of Solidarity in Struggle: South Asians for Black Lives tackles the complexities of anti-Blackness in South Asian communities, holds space for healing, and galvanizes South Asians to actively dismantle anti-Blackness.
